About Lucy
I’m a British artist living and working in North Wiltshire in the UK. Having trained originally in portraiture, I felt more of a pull to the landscape around me with a move from the city back to the countryside where I grew up, and I taught myself how to paint my surroundings; I work in oil, both en plein air and from the studio.
My paintings are a direct response to my environment, and I am most inspired by shifting light and colour and the interactions between high skies and wide landscapes.
Working directly from life and combining knife and brush marks, my work is energetic, vibrant and immersive. I love to travel and paint trips have included Italy, Madagascar, Sri Lanka, and Kenya to name a few.

ARTCH
I founded ARTCH (Art for Charity Collective) in 2020 as an artist-led platform dedicated to promoting art with purpose. We direct a large portion of our sales to artists and charities, challenging the traditional art market model. We have raised £320,000 for various charities to date and were awarded the Points of Light Award by Downing Street in 2022 for our services to society.
“We strive to dismantle art world barriers, ensuring art is accessible to all. We believe in the power of community and that artists joining their voices collectively can affect meaningful change and have a positive impact on the world around us.’

A Space Between
I am honoured to be an Ambassador for the UK-based charity A Space Between.
A Space Between is passionate about elevating creativity as a pillar of health. They offer programmes inspiring a simple creative pause within hospital settings and into the community. Their vision is to break down generational barriers, patient-carer boundaries and social confines through a collective art space open to all.
“I enjoy the immediacy of working en plein air, recording fleeting information as quickly as I can, as the colours change in front of me and my painting changes with them. I use a knife to build layers and enjoy the visceral quality of the paint itself and how it naturally behaves, juxtaposed with picking out details and enhancing parts of the scene that interest me most”
