Workshops

I offer a couple of workshops a year teaching landscape painting outdoors working in oil paint.  These take place from my home in North Wiltshire, between Malmesbury and Tetbury, which is surrounded by views to paint. I will begin with a demo and will then help you start your own paintings, giving you step-by-step advice on how to tint your canvas, options for your ground and other helpful tips. You are free to watch me paint alongside you throughout the day, and I will also give you regular positive critiques of your paintings and help whenever needed.

My workshops have a strong focus on light and colour with the aim of giving you confidence to experiment and be loose and expressive with your brush and/or palette knife. If the weather is bad there is room to work undercover. My teaching style is relaxed and informal, and my main aim is that you enjoy the painting, take the pressure off, relax and come away with a finished painting or two.
